私編集長Yuuuriは、アイラブトリニのライターメンバーでもあるselector HemoがプロデュースするCANAVALAVAというよさこいとトリニダード・カーニバルを掛け合わせたチームの運営に関わっております。みなさんにこのチームに参加してみてほしいというプロモーションも兼ねて、以下に私の体験を踏まえたお誘い・告知を書かせていただきます。
この夏の私のミッションはCANAVALAVAというよさこいとカリブのカーニバルを掛け合わせたチーム（トリニダード・カーニバルの場合Bandと言います)を成功させること。たくさんの方々にぜひ来て、参加してみてほしいです！私は大阪出身でそれほど高知は遠くないが、 Hemo や Soca singerであるRomie と出会うまで高知のよさこいのことを全然知らなかったです。2017年にMachel Moncatno招聘に関わり、初めてこのチーム(2017年までCANAVAL)でよさこいを体験することになった。
私が毎年足繁く通うトリニダードのカーニバルも経験しないとその良さが伝わりにくいと思っています😅が、日本の祭りも、その良さは参加しないとわかりにくいかなと思っています。ただよさこいは（トリニダード・カーニバルも！）、祭りすら行ったことがない人も体験できる、誰でも参加できるお祭りなのです。見るだけじゃない、参加するんです！「えー、踊れない」って思うかもしれませんが、うまく踊る必要なんてない！ そこにいること、体験すること、やってみることに意義があります！「いつもの道が舞台へと〜🎵（Romieの曲)」この祭りの時に、道が舞台になり、そこで踊るという「開放感」、特によさこいに関しては踊りもこなすという「達成感」これが醍醐味なのです！
この気持ちを経験することで人生の何かが変わることってあると思います。少なくとも私は、いまや、「この人年に何回祭りやってんの！？」ってくらい祭り女みたいになっちゃったw でも、楽しむために生まれてきたからいいんだ！と思っています（笑）
前回の投稿の通り、今年は障害やどうしてもこれない理由があるけど参加してみたいという人のために、遠隔ロボットを出動させて私たちのチームで踊らせるという面白く新たな試みもあります！日本の伝統とカーニバルを味わえる祭りにぜひ参加してみませんか？？^^
<English>My most important mission this year is to make CANVALAVA (our band/team combining Yosakoi and Caribbean carnival) a big success. I truly want lot of people to join us. I myself knew nothing about Yosakoi until I met people like Hemo and Romie, but when I finally came across an opportunity to participate in team CANAVAL for the first time in 2017, it really was something. As it is like in Trinidad’s carnival, it’s hard to explain its magnificence until you actually blend in and experience it. But Yosakoi is probably the one and only festival that once you’re there, you’re in. You’d definitely want to dance to the choreography and not just watch… you might think naaah, I ‘m not up for dancing, but there’s absolutely no need to be a good dancer, the fact that you’re in Kochi and experiencing the vibe is most important. Maybe the words to describe carnival is ‘feeling openness’ and Yosakoi could be ‘achieving accomplishment’. I think experiencing these moments can change something in your life and at least for me, it well did and I’m proud I’m now a some kind of festival/carnival mania lol…well, I was born to enjoy life after all!! Having said all that, this year we’ll be joined by remotely operated ROBOTS in our team which is going to be the world’s very first experimental attempt. Being there is important, true, but our wish is that everyone who wants to attend but can’t do so for many different reasons including those physically challenged, to be able to feel and enjoy Yosakoi Festival’s excitement.
